On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Jimmy Ellis Brown went home to be with the Lord at the age of 81. Jimmy was born on June 6, 1943 in Hackneyville, Alabama to Thomas Joseph Brown and Mary Nell Brown. Jimmy spent most of his life as a carpenter with a great love for the outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time in his garden. Jimmy also had a passion for history and lifelong learning, often reading 2 or 3 books in a day. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kelly Green, and one brother, Jerry Lamar Brown. He is survived by sister, Linda Jean Anderson (Dale); brother Tommy Joel Brown (Linda); sons James E. Brown (Audrey) and Thomas Brown; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Service for Jimmy will be held on September 21, 2024 at 1pm at Hackneyville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hackneyville Baptist Church, 9149 Highway 63 N, Alexander City, AL 35010.
