Central Alabama Community College golf coach Dave Jennings and his team were honored at Monday’s Alexander City City Council meeting by a proclamation recognizing their recent NJCAA Division I national championship.

It was the Trojans’ second national championship under Jennings’ direction and their seventh overall.

Alexander City Mayor Tommy Spraggins noted all five team members are from Alabama, including Benjamin Russell graduate Dylan Moncus. Moncus’ teammates include Caleb O’Toole, Jack Poole, Reed Love and Owen Burt.

“The hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, talent and exceptional team chemistry of the 2019 team is a source of pride for all of Alexander City,” Spraggins said in the proclamation. “Winning the 2019 national championship brought honor to CACC and the city of Alexander City on the local, state and national level.”
