Funeral services for Lois Evelyn Lovelady, age 94 of Ashland, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Cemetery.

Mrs. Lovelady passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Clay County Nursing Home. She was born in Clay County but had lived in Tallapoosa County for over 46 years. Mrs. Lovelady had worked as a seamstress in the textile industry for several years then as a nurse’s aide at Chapman Nursing Home. Mrs. Lovelady was a graduate of New Site High School, and was the oldest member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lovelady is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. James (Ronnie) of the Cowpens Community, one sister, Edith Williams (Bill) of Pensacola, FL, three grandchildren; Kevin James Sr., Hanley James, and Ronnifer Robertson, four great-grandchildren, Logan Tucker, Kelsey Tucker, Kevin James Jr., and Clark James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seaborn Jennings Allen, and Lillie Mae Bowen Allen, her husband; Quinton Lovelady, one son, Paul Lovelady, one sister, Gladys McGinty and three brothers: Floyd Allen, Clyde Allen, and Arthur Allen.

Pallbearers will be: Bart Robertson, Logan Tucker, Kevin James Sr., Kevin James Jr., Tommy Bramblett, Ken Patterson, Gerald Burdett, and Ronald Cotney.

The family will receive friends at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on May 2, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
