Wind Creek State Park is 100 percent booked for Memorial Day weekend, according to park superintendent Bruce Adams.
Adams said the park is always at full capacity during summer holidays, including the Fourth of July.
“We look forward to (having kicked) off summer this weekend and hope we have good weather conditions all summer long,” Adams said. “Lake Martin’s popular all up and down the 280 corridor, those from Georgia all the way up to Chilton County and all that and then going north and south, Millbrook and Prattville area.”
Adams said the park has about 250 to 350 occupied campsites during the week and 350 to 450 during weekends.
“That’s what we normally do,” Adams said.
In addition to holidays, Adams said the park also fills up during spring break.
“Spring break was busy for us,” Adams said.
Adams said visitors should keep up with events at the park at Wind Creek State Park-Alabama’s Facebook page.
Wind Creek State Park is located at 4325 Alabama Highway 128 in Alexander City and is open from 7 a.m. to midnight daily.
