Investigators with the Alexander City Police Department are looking into a possible rape over the weekend.

Fredrick Thomas died after being struck by an automobile in Jacksons Gap on Memorial Day according to law enforcement.

“He had already passed away when we got to the scene,” Jacksons Gap police chief B.C. Cooper said.

Cooper said the Jacksons Gap Police Department cannot release much about the evening incident.

“We still have some conflicting stories,” Cooper said. “We are going back through everything again. (Thomas) supposedly got out of his car and walked across the street when he was struck. He was wearing all black.”

Cooper said his department is still investigating the incident.
