The Tallapoosee County Historical Society will hold its quarterly meeting at 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at its museum on the square, 214 Broadnax Street in Dadeville. The program will be “Sing Along with the Dulcimer Club.” This group, led by Kim Walls will play and everyone can join in to sing some of the songs. The dulcimer instrument originated in the Scotch Irish settlements in Appalachia, and remains an instrument in use today for traditional songs. The Scotch Irish descendants were a significant group in the settling of Alabama. This meeting is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
