Who should be Citizen of the Year?

Published Thursday, January 28, 2010

In our annual Parade edition, The Outlook will name a Citizen of the Year for the Alexander City community.

And we’d like your thoughts on the subject.

If you know someone who should be considered for the Citizen of the Year award, please let us know. We’re looking for a person who is a leader, who has gone the extra mile to help make our community a better place, someone who gives of himself or herself, someone who by their actions could be considered a role model. If that brings a name to mind, please take a moment to send us a nomination.

We will publish an in-depth story and portrait of the 2010 Citizen of the Year. We’ve found in the past that many people are hesitant to “toot their own horn,” so any information you know about why you consider this person to be worthy of the honor would be much appreciated … we’ll ask them about it.

To make a nomination, please use the advertisement form published on page 8 today. We’ll print it several more times in coming week. Nominations could be dropped off at our office at 548 Cherokee Road, or mailed to us at P.O. Box 999, Alexander City, AL 35011, and we’re also taking nominations by e-mail to editor@alexcityoutlook.com.

Thanks for your help!
