Visitors enjoyed Sunday’s fish fry at Rocky Creek
Published Tuesday, February 23, 2010
Bryan and I were surprised Friday afternoon when the Moody and Sharpe families told Patrick and little Bryan to come and surprise us. They did and Clint, Penny, Bud, Desiree, Keegan Grey and Paislee Greyce Sharpe enjoyed them as much as we did. Crystal was unable to make the trip, but what a great time the rest of us had!
Our Horseshoe Bend School basketball girls team with Coach Mike Boyd and his assistants were defeated by the Regional Semi Finals Tournament at Montgomery last week. This team is scrappy and Coach Boyd loses no one for next year. Congratulations to all of you and we love you. Boys we are proud of you, win or lose!
Glenda Welch, a dear friend of Hackneyville, we love you and may God let you recuperate soon. Your daughter, Robbie Alford, is loved by all of us at HBS and everywhere. Robbie’s students say, “Get well, Miss Glenda.”
Annie Lois Bailey appreciates everyone’s kindness bestowed upon her during her surgery. Brenda and Sandra with their families say, “thank you!”
Helen Oliver has been in the hospital again at Russell Medical Center. Keep this precious lady in your prayers.
Bryan’s home health nurse is one of the best. Felicia, we love you dearly and appreciate your great nursing skills. We shall never forget you!
My sister, Colleen Davis, is not feeling well. Cheer her up with a card. That’s her specialty for people.
Continue to keep Wink Claybrook in your prayers. His late wife, Margie Keel of Jackson’s Gap was one of my best high school friends at Dadeville School. Wink was a classmate of mine, also.
Keep Desiree Sharpe in your prayers Thursday as Penny and I go with her to Opelika to have her four wisdom teeth removed.
The annual Rocky Creek delicious fish fry was held on Sunday morning after preaching. Everyone who could attend enjoyed themselves.
Bill Ponder and Zenus Windsor, you are in everyone’s prayers. Seemingly, Bryan Yates and Bennie Yates are doing better. God is so good!
Continue to pray for the Mike Bryan family, Paul Anderson, Glenn and Carol Fuller, Lloyd Allen, Ronnie and Cora Hamrick, Barbara James, Linda Hodnett, Gene Ingram, Tom Radney Sr., Betty Ann Meigs Hamby, Betty Odom, MacWayne and Evie Nolen, Odean Moran Keel, Eloise East, Lavan and LaDean Oliver, Betty Price and others.
Visiting Bryan Yates recently were Sonny Bryan, Calvin Stowes, Phil Blasingame, Deena Holley, Bob Nolen, Sandra Thompson and Jimmy Hugh Jackson and others.
Picking and Grinning is always enjoyable on Saturday night to those people who can attend. Leon McCain’s Kountry Kritters are a good band.
Josh Graham is going to be okay due to the injury that he received in his soccer game. We love you, Josh!
Rep. Betty Carol Graham is doing a good job representing us in Montgomery. If all people had the compassion and love for people that Betty Carol has, the world wouldn’t be in the turmoil it is in today. Her no. 1 fan, Joel Graham, an elite husband stands by her side.
Wow! An ovation for Cora Hamrick who returned to Picking and Grinning on Saturday night was wonderful for a fascinating lady.
Landon Tidwell of Dadeville came to Picking and Grinning with his grandparents, Farrell and Bobbie Lou Tidwell, on Saturday night. He is a precious boy!
Jimmy and Jody Hanson are an ideal Christian couple in New Site whom all revere. Jimmy is a fighter in his sickness and never gives up. Continue to improve and we love yours and you.
Sybil Hanson has always been New Site’s Florence Nightingale. Sybil, you’re no. 1 in everyone’s hearts and minds. Keep it up, Sybil!
The new Miss Legend at Horseshoe Bend School Pageant on Saturday night was beautiful Jordan Gilliland. Grandmother Peggy Blasingame was thrilled. Congratulations, Jordan!
God is so good and He knows what’s best for all of us.
Corinne Wright visited her new great-grandchild over the weekend. Proud for you, dear ones.
Virginia Yates is a columnist for The Alexander City Outlook covering New Site.
