Childersburg ripped Coosa 78-55 to keep the Cougars out of the playoffs for the second straight season. Coosa’s final record is 15-10.
The Tigers ran out to a 23-7 first-quarter lead and pushed the advantage to 28 at halftime.
LaDavious Battled poured in 22 points for Childersburg in the win. John McGhee was the top scorer for Coosa with 13. Marcus Judkins had eight and William Tuck added seven.
Coosa’s Joe Russell, a first-team all-state performer in 2009, was held to six points in his final game as a Cougar.
