CACC baseball team falls to Marion Military

Published Monday, February 8, 2010

In a sloppy game, the Central Alabama Trojans lost to Marion Military 8-6 on the road over the weekend.

CACC overcame a four-run deficit early to tie the game, but eight errors gave the Tigers too many chances on offense.

After a four-run second inning, MMI scored single runs in the third, fifth, seventh and eighth innings to stay on top. CACC tied the game in the top of the third with four runs of its own, but never could take the lead.

Five Tigers had multiple hits in the win. MMI pounded out 14 hits, compared to CACC’s 11, which were all singles.

All four of the Trojan pitchers who saw time on the mound gave up at least one earned run, with Logan Dunlap taking the loss after surrendering two runs (one earned) in one frame.

Ryan Hudnall got the win for MMI, which got three hits at the plate from leadoff hitter Brad Hedges.

Brennan Olive, Kendall Lacey, John Gunnels and Drake Sasser all recorded two hits apiece for the Trojans (2-2).
