Police look into possible abduction

Authorities spent a portion Friday afternoon looking for an “armed and dangerous” man on Alabama 22 in the New Site area who may have been connected with a alleged abduction, scanner reports indicated.
A bulletin requesting all agencies be on the lookout for the suspect, who was reportedly driving a 2000 White Ford Ranger. Scanner reports also indicated he was with a white female who may or may not have been being held against her will.
Tallapoosa County 911 canceled the bulletin around 4:30 p.m., indicating the suspect was in custody.
Sheriff Jimmy Abbett did not wish to comment on the incident as of press time because the investigation was still ongoing.
