6 injured in 2-car wreck

Six people were injured as a result of a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Monday night four miles west of Alexander City on U.S. 280.

Jonathan Christopher Jones, 24, of Birmingham was injured and transported to Russell Medical Center when the 2010 Dodge Charger he was driving collided with a 1996 Chevrolet truck.

The other driver, James Arthur Boyce, age 57, of Goodwater was also transported to RMC, according to a report released by the Alabama State Troopers Tuesday.

Shanquilla Thomas, 20, of Alexander City; Oberion Thomas,19, of Alexander City; Timothy Edwards, 22, of Birmingham and Jermaine Tolbert, 20, were all transported to RMC with injuries.

The report states that all four passengers were in the Charger at the time of the wreck.

The state troopers’ crash report did not indicate if the victims were wearing seat belts or if air bags deployed in the vehicles.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the cause of the wreck.
