TPI promotes Liesch to news editor

Published Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Dale Liesch has been promoted from staff writer to news editor of The Alexander City Outlook and its sister The Dadeville Record.

As news editor, Liesch will help plan news content and manage writers. He and managing editor Brent Maze are the people to call if you have a story you’d like to see published in the paper.

Liesch, who joined Tallapoosa Publishers, Inc. in March 2008, said he is excited about the new opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to working in this capacity,” Liesch said. “I’ve always wanted to be a journalist and I’m excited about this opportunity.”

Liesch originally hails from Baldwin County and he graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2007 after majoring in journalism.

Maze said he is thrilled to have Liesch working for TPI.

“Dale’s been a great asset to our news team and I’m thrilled that he earned this promotion,” Maze said.

Outlook Publisher Kenneth Boone said, “Dale’s one of those guys who lives and breathes local news. He enthusiastic and professional and I’m very pleased that he’s becoming part of the management team at Tallapoosa Publishers.”
