Postal inspectors search for witnesses
Published Monday, October 19, 2009
As postal inspectors continue to investigate the murder of U.S. Postal Service (USPS) highway contract route driver Tony Harrelson, they encourage the public to call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service or Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department hotline with information.
As part of their investigation, postal inspectors are interviewing post office box customers of the Camp Hill Post Office.
“We are looking for anyone who could have been at the Camp Hill Post Office the day of the murder, Friday, October 2, 2009.” said Postal Inspector Yulanda Burns, Public Information Officer for the Atlanta Division of the Postal Inspection Service. “From what we have gathered, the murder occurred between the hours of 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., and we believe there may be people who don’t realize they are witnesses to the crime and may be able to help us.”
Call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455, option 2, with tips or information about the murder. Information can also be given to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department at 825-4264, or the Secret Witness number at 827-2035.
The Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Tony Harrelson.w
