Watts, Clark tie the knot at their fascinating wedding

Published Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Finally, Bryan and I, with Bennie Lee Yates, went to Birmingham on Thursday to confer with Bryan’s cancer doctor, Dr. Jimmie Harvey, a seemingly unique oncologist whom we revere. Dr. Harvey plans to use chemo treatments for six months and the new pill treatment, also. Hoping the first chemo treatment starts next week for two hours, the day after the first chemo treatment, Bryan takes the pill treatment for 14 days (one a day), etc. Bryan, Dr. Harvey, Dr. Cassidy, Dr. Corbin with Bryan’s relatives and friends, plus our heavenly father, God, can “Beat the C” together. God is the answer and is so good. I had planned to not mention this, but many of my readers wanted to read about Bryan’s condition. “We with God can beat it!”

Again, thanks for the good deeds done for Bryan and his family. Without you, it would be rough going. God is so good! Thanks to everyone and for everything.

The lovely wedding for Hali Watts and Corey Clark was beautiful before a host of relatives and friends to behold. The First Methodist New Site Church and all say, “Good luck!” to a deserving couple whom all revere. Grandparents, Leon and Marnetha McCain thought of Corey as a grandson whom they have always loved.

Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Corey Clark! Their fascinating wedding reception was held at the home and yard of Jimmy and Kim Vickers. Ohhh! This was a fantastic reception.

Larry and Cynthia Locke of Alexander City had Earline Locke as a Friday night dinner guest. The food was delicious, but their hospitality was great. Larry and Cynthia have a lovely home on the lake and their yard and pier shows how hard they work to maintain a lovely place. Their hospitality is fabulous!

Little Keegan Sharpe and Paislee Greyce Sharpe of Daviston spent the night (Friday) with grandparents, Clintt and Penny Moody at Alexander City.

I pray everyone had a good time on Sunday celebrating Father’s Day. Clint and Penny of Alexander City and Bud, Desiree, Keegan, Paislee Greyce Sharpe of Daviston ate lunch with us. Patrick, Crystal and little Bryan couldn’t make it, but we had them in our prayers.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Billy Prophitt. He is God’s gain and our loss. He was a good man who loved his Lord.

Thanks for those who called about the rattlesnake beans. If we make any, I’ll remember you. Someone brought me a real mess of fresh beans yesterday, so they were enjoyed by Bryan and me with our children at lunch after church today. Many thanks for helping me.

My dear friend Peggy Blasingame is not feeling well. Keep this wonderful lady in your prayers.

Picking and Grinning with the Kountry Kritters Band is great every Saturday night from 6 until 8:30 p.m. Join us anytime and eat some of Cora Hamrick’s good food.

Happy Father’s Day to everyone. If you are a father, let your children know how important they are in your life. Father’s day is everyday, so show how much you care for the “man” in your life.

Laverne Stewart, Don and JoAnne Kennedy with their families have really enjoyed Thomas Boone of Washington State. Thomas is an example of a great child of God.

Evie Nolen, take care of your feet. We’ll check on you.

Mike Waldrop is feeling better and he has gone back to his police work. Take it easy and get well, our Mike Waldrop, whom we love. His Uncle Emmett isn’t feeling well, but Emmett, get well because you are a valuable man to us.

Coach Long and his assistants have a great baseball organization “going strong” this summer again. We love all of you and we pray God blesses you abundantly to be a No. 1 Christian athlete, regardless if you are a coach, player or fun. It’s fun, so “play ball.”

Seth and Tiffany Clark of Daviston have a lovely home at Daviston near granddaddy Bill Stephens. Visit this pretty house and this deserving couple with a new and first baby “on the way” makes them so happy. Aren’t we all? Seth and Tiffany teach at the same Auburn Elementary School.

Father of the year for Rocky Creek Baptist Church was announced Sunday. Guess who it was! Yes, this man and his family whom all revere is Joe Jones. Congratulations.

Keep Darlene Yates in your prayers. She needs all our help and prayers. Rickey, we love her and all of you.
