1 charged with attempted murder

Police say suspect allegedly shot into vehicle passing on U.S. 280, suspect still in county jail

A Goodwater man has been arrested in connection with an incident, in which police say he fired a weapon into a vehicle in an unsuccessful attempt to kill an occupant inside.

Jonathan Labron Harrell, 28 was charged with attempted murder for the alleged crime.

Authorities issued a warrant for Harrell’s arrest Thursday and Goodwater Police arrested him Monday at U.S. 280 and Washington Street on behalf of the Alexander City Police Department.

He is accused of firing the weapon into a vehicle and the incident occurred inside Alexander City on May 10.

Harrell is currently being held in the Tallapoosa County Jail where he is awaiting a bond hearing.

Police are continuing to investigate the case but declined to provide further information.
