Funeral service for Mrs. Shelby Jean Adair, 78, of Alexander City, will be Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Graveside at HillviewMemorial Park.  Bro. Randy Anderson will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adair passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at her Residence.  She was born on April 13, 1936 in Alexander City, Alabama to William Versho Carter and Millie Mae Meadows Carter.  Mrs. Adair was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and loved to read and cook.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Hurel Adair of Alexander City; daughters, Rhonda Adair Lee (Patrick), of Cape Canaveral, FL; Regina Adair Wassom (Doug), of Melborne Beach, FL; sons, Randy Hurell Adair (Barbara), of Alexander City, George Hurell Adair, Jr. (Amanda), of Sterrett; grandchildren, Shelby Lee of Cape Canaveral, FL; Reed Adair (Erin) of Helena, Kyle Devanney of Melborne Beach, FL, Katie Devanney of Melborne Beach, FL, Caroline Adair of Sterrett; great-grandchildren, Carter Adair and Avery Adair both of Helena; sisters, Patricia Adamson (Fletcher), of Alexander City; Deborah Carter Holiday of Sterrett; special caretaker, Lisa Knight of Alexander City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Richard Carter.
