Dadeville church to offer Mom’s Day Out programPublished 6:56pm Tuesday, July 1, 2014
After gauging community interest, First Baptist Church Dadeville is set to introduce its new Mom’s Day Out program.
The new program, set to start this fall, aims to provide quality child care three half days a week and to help each child develop his or her greatest potential spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially and mentally.
“We’ve had this ministry in our church in the past, and we just had a lot of people in the community express an interest in us doing it again,” said program director Christina Baker. “We’re not looking to be a full-time childcare facility, but we want to offer a part-time program for parents and caretakers of children for them to have a break and for us to do some good programming and ministry with them.”
Mom’s Day Out will be for children ages three months to pre-K and is set to begin in September and run until mid-May with a Christmas and spring break.
Children will be dropped off at the church Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Baker said registration is open can be done by calling her at 256-825-6232.
“We had enough response for us to decide to open registration. We hope that we will be able to start it up this fall. We’re looking to start at the beginning of September,” Baker said. “We’re excited about the opportunity and hope that we get some people that are interested. We hope we can meet their needs.”
Baker said the program will provide quality teachers for children, and looks to start out small.
“I know it’s going to take some time to grow, but we want to start out small and see what can happen in the future,” Baker said. “We’re going to be learning as we go, but we do have some quality people we are looking to be on our staff. We have some great, experienced pre-school teachers that we’re hoping to work with. I think it will be a good program we can offer to the community.”
