The Dadeville Police Department has released the identity of a woman found dead on Agricola Road last Friday

DPD said they confirmed the body was that of Jamie Renee Gravette, 35, of Kellyton, Ala.

According to a press release, DPD received confirmation from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences around 4 p.m. Thursday.

Police first responded to the scene around 5 p.m. last Friday, but due to the condition of the body, identifying the body was difficult.

It is too early in the investigation, Martin added, to speculate about cause or time of death. Martin said that they will continue investigating the case and are awaiting reports from the department of forensics.

“The Department of Forensics’ timeframe on when they can get reports back to us depend on their workload,” Martin said. “We have several forensic reports pending. Sometimes they can get those back to us fast, but we don’t have an estimate on when they are coming back.”

No clear indications of cause of death were found by officers that first discovered the body. Preliminary reports from the Department of Forensic Sciences suggest that the death was not the result of trauma or injury, but it could still take several weeks to determine the medically determine the cause of death.
