Funeral service for Mrs. Ila Moss Turner, 93, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turner passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on November 22, 1920 in Chambers County, Alabama to John Tom Moss and Ella May Sanders Moss. She was a member of Calvary Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Turner held a clerical position at Russell Corporation’s Number One Mill for 35 years. She was an avid Alabama and Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Turner loved flower gardening and working in the yard.
She is survived by her; sister, Sally Duck of Alexander City; niece, Deborah Ballard of Alexander City; nephew, Richard Duck of Montgomery; special caretaker, Liz Prophitt ofAlexander City; friend, Dick Hammrick of Auburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Erin Lindsey and Pearl Abney and brothers, Jess Moss, Denson Moss, John Moss, Joe Moss and Woodrow Moss.
