K-Rae Blasingame and the Horseshoe Bend Lady Generals continued their winning ways, taking down the Central of Coosa County Lady Cougars 6-2.
For the Class 2A, No. 10 Lady Generals (13-6), it is their fourth win in a row.
Early on, the Lady Generals had a tough time getting the ball past the Lady Cougars’ defense.
“We hit the ball fairly well, even early on, but we hit it straight to (Lady Cougars players),” HBHS softball coach Kim Vickers said. “Toward the later stages, we were finally able to hit the ball in some holes and get runners on.”
Blasingame got the win for the Lady Generals, going all seven innings.
She also had an RBI double to aid her cause.
Erin Vickers had an RBI triple in the game as well.
“The girls are coming around,” Vickers said. “We’re hitting the ball well. But we have to keep working, and I hope the girls don’t peak too early as we make our push to the playoffs.”
HBHS returns to action April 8 at Randolph County.
