Hudson nets three as ‘Cats destroy Rams

Published 10:15am Thursday, March 20, 2014

The Wildcats are firing on all cylinders on the pitch, as Valley found out this past Tuesday.
Grant Hudson notched a hat-trick to lead Benjamin Russell to a 10-0 win over the Rams.
With the victory, the Wildcats’ area shutout streak is still intact.
“Right now, Grant’s playing really well,” said BRHS soccer coach Austin Teel. “Valley tried to do the same thing Carroll did against us in terms of packing the box in to make it harder for our offense. Carroll was more aggressive about it, though. They came after the ball, and Valley didn’t.”
Cole Grogan and Phillip Speake each scored twice. Matt Smith, Scott Sturdivant and Jackson Graham each scored once.
Benjamin Russell returns to action tonight when they take on Trinity Presbyterian Academy at 7 p.m. in the Charles E. Bailey Sportplex.
Following that, BRHS will be off for Spring Break.
