Hutto shuts down Lady Cougars

The Benjamin Russell Lady Wildcats have gotten off their season-opening schnide thanks to a dominating effort from Taylor Hutto.
Hutto threw a two-hit shutout in leading the Lady ‘Cats to their first win of the season, a 4-0 over Central of Coosa County.
In seven innings, Hutto struck out 14 batters.
She also helped her own cause with two hits from the batter’s box, and an RBI.
Cookie Kelley had an RBI double as well.
Alexis Flowers picked up two hits, and Danasha and Tanasha Wyckoff and Laci Bishop were among several players that found success at the plate.
Now 1-9 on the season, the Lady Wildcats will try to put together a winning streak at the expense of cross-town rival Dadeville, who comes to town Thursday.
Game time is set to start at 6 p.m.
