Generals crushed by Vols

Published 11:13am Thursday, February 20, 2014

Horseshoe Bend fell to 0-2 on the season after a 15-0 loss to Central High School of Clay County in five innings.
The entire day was a struggle from start to finish for the Generals, who only mustered one hit all game.
“As well as we played Monday, we played 10 times as worse in this one,” said Generals baseball coach Jason Johnson. “We didn’t do anything well. We didn’t pitch well, and we made six errors on defense. The lone hit we had was a infield blooper.”
The Volunteers took control early on, jumping out to a 9-0 lead in the first inning.
From there, Central-Clay continued to add to its lead until the game was called.
HBHS returns to action Saturday when they head on the road for a double-header versus Tallassee and Handley.
