Dancy, Rebels drop Panthers 62-53 despite cold shooting

Controlling the game from start to finish, the Reeltown Rebels took down 4A foe Elmore County High School this past Saturday, winning 62-53.
The win came in spite of offensive struggles for the Rebels (10-6, 3-3 in area). Reeltown only connected on 34 percent of their shots during the contest, and hit less than half of their free throw attempts.
Still, the Rebels were able to jump out to a 17-10 lead over the Panthers at the end of the first. Eventually, Reeltown head into the break up 31-20.
The Rebels virtually coasted to victory, maintaining a double-digit lead for much of the contest.
The Panthers made a late charge, out-scoring Reeltown 21-17 in the final quarter, but the Rebels’ advantage was enough to ward off the rally.
Guard D’angelo Dancy led the Rebels with 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting.
He also added in five rebounds.
Ariko Stewart chipped in with 12 points, seven boards and three assists, and C.J. Bell scored 10 points.
Ed Carraker narrowly missed a double-double, scoring nine points and snagging 16 rebounds in the contest.
