Russell Do-It center assists with nice gesture

Published 6:59pm Monday, January 27, 2014

Dear Editor,

The Alexander City Police Department would like to take moment to thank the Russell-Do-It Center. The Russell-Do-It Center recently donated the Police Department a new BBQ Grill.

The department uses a grill on many different occasions such as shift cookouts, department cookouts, Softball games, training events, and special events such as Octoberfest. The Department has used the same grill for over 15 years.

On the last event, as the grill was being prepared to cook for the officers who were working the event, the BBQ grill fell apart.

When the Russell-Do-It Center heard about this, the department had a brand new BBQ grill on the following week.

The only fallback was that the grill was a NICE Alabama football grill and I’m an Auburn Fan.

On behalf of Chief Willie Robinson and the Police Department we would like to say thanks.

Capt. Mario Hodge
