Rebels fall to Panthers

Despite 17 points apiece from D’angelo Dancy and Ariko Stewart, as well as and 26 steals as a team, the Reeltown Rebels were unable to overcome Prattville Christian Academy, falling 66-58 this past Friday.
The loss drops the Rebels to 6-3 on the year and is a setback in terms of area play, as it represents the team’s first loss against an area opponent this season.
The Rebels held a slim 16-13 advantage at the end of the first period, but the second quarter was dominated by PCA.
The Panthers out-scored Reeltown 22-8 to take a 35-24 lead into halftime.
The Rebels out-scored Prattville Christian Academy in the second half 34-31, but the deficit from the second quarter was too much for the team to regroup from.
In addition to his 17 points, Dancy snagged eight boards, swiped four steals and dished out two assists as well as getting a block.
Stewart was a nightmare defensively, as he racked up nine steals and added five boards to go with his 17 points.
Reeltown sharpshooter C.J. Bell added nine points and three steals.
Ed Carraker was a force on the glass for the Rebels, pulling down 13 boards (five offensive) during the game. He also scored five points.
The Rebels will try to get back to winning when they go outside of Class 2A for their next game.
Reeltown travels to face inter-county rival Dadeville on Wednesday.
