DHS track team wins at Icebreaker meet

The Icebreaker Invitational meet was a successful for the Dadeville High School indoor track team, as exceptional performances powered the Tigers to a team meet championship.
Senior and reigning Class 4A triple jump state champion Latravious Glenn dominated during the 1A-4A meet. He scored 28 points to help the Tigers cause, winning the triple and high jump events.
“(Glenn) was a big part of the victory,” said Dadeville track coach Sabrina Milligan.
Glenn also finished second in the long jump and anchored the Tigers 4×400 relay team, which won first place.
Fellow senior Darius Miller finished second in the 400-meter run, and assisted the 4×200 relay team claim a top five finish. He also ran a leg for the 4×400 relay team.
Dadeville also won the 4×800 meter relay event.
Quentrel Heard placed sixth in the long jump event and finised fifth in the triple jump event.
In distance running, Zack Johnson claimed a top eight finish in the 3,200 meter run.
In the girls 400-meter dash, Zikeria Norris claimed a fifth-place finish, running a time of 1:06.98
Conor Reed was seventh in the boys 800-meter run.
D.J. Morgan claimed a top eight finish in the men’s shot put competition.
