Funeral service for Mrs. Rhonda Ann Cotney, 59, of Alexander City, will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Cowhick and Sister Shelby Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cotney passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at her residence. She was born on May 26, 1954 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially fishing at her favorite cabin. She loved going to flea markets and the casino. You could find her with her mother every weekend at her favorite aunt’s eating something good.
She is survived by her husband Johnny Cotney of Alexander City; daughter, Christy Michelle Johnson (Todd), of Kellyton; step-daughters, Christie Magera (George) and Melinda Allen (Derrick); granddaughters, Cheyenne Smith and Marlie Allen; grandsons, Sevin Smith, Stihl Smith, Alex Allen, Josiah Magera, Frank Magera, T.J. Johnson and Parker Johnson; mother, Stella Hammonds Thomas; brother, Wayne Thomas (Helen); very special aunt, Kay Anderson; special cousin, Connie Raines (John); several nieces and nephews and special friends, Debbie Chapman and Sister Shelby Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her father, R. J. Thomas and brother, Randall Dale Thomas.
