DPD arrest man for ‘distracted driving’ on U.S. 280

Published 8:24pm Thursday, October 17, 2013

Dadeville police arrested a 26-year-old Auburn man Tuesday on a very embarrassing charge.
A truck driver called 911 Tuesday morning and reported he witnessed a motorist “pleasuring himself” as he drove westbound on U.S. Highway 280.
“We checked on the young man,” said police chief David Barbour.
He was pulled over by Dadeville police officers near 280’s intersection with Broadnax Avenue.
“We made the stop, and he admitted he was riding down the road doing what the truck driver said he was doing,” Barbour added.
The man was charged with indecent exposure – a misdemeanor – and taken to the Tallapoosa County Jail. Barbour said that was the second such arrest the department has made in the last few years.
