Dadeville High students have been celebrating homecoming all week, with special dress-up days for students and work on parade floats taking place around the city.

The week’s events lead up to Friday night’s crowning of the Homecoming Queen and the presentation of Mr. and Mrs. DHS during pregame ceremonies before the Tigers take on the region rival Beulah Bobcats.

Homecoming Queen nominees, who were selected by a vote of the student body, are Erin Hutcherson, Jada Russell and Megan Simpson. The Homecoming Court will include freshman maid Candy Baker, sophomore maid Hallie Cox, junior maid Shardae Heard and senior maid Shania Johnson.

The DHS Fall Festival is tonight from 5-7 p.m. in the school parking lot. A bonfire will follow at the school at 7 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Dadeville will host a prayer breakfast at 6:45 a.m. Friday to kick off the day. A pep rally will begin at 1 p.m. The parade through downtown will start at 2 p.m. Anyone interested in participating should contact teacher Kim Shelton at 256-825-7848 for an entry form. A homecoming alumni reception will be in the DHS media center at 5 p.m. for the classes of 1954, 1974 and 1994. The homecoming game begins at 7 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. DHS will be presented at 6:40 p.m. and the homecoming queen will be crowned at 6:45.
