The system is broken

Published 5:14pm Friday, October 4, 2013

Dear Editor,
There has been so much shame in this state alone, and yet there is more to come. First of all, I would like to say Mr. Randall Mann, my brother, that I am so sorry you were so humiliated to that extreme. I had a member of my family humiliated a few years ago, and it wasn’t acceptable then, I know it is not acceptable now in the 21st century.
The system is broke, and I am proud of you for standing up. I don’t care who you are or what color you are, this is not justice. This is vigilante style. People, this could be your child next. It is scary. We have got to keep fighting and pressing for change. Change will come when all our voices are heard.
We have to vote the right people in and not your buddies. We have to put people in that don’t have ties to friends with companies. People that can’t be bought, and that will stand and represent all the people in their district and change will come.
Police should be our hope at night when they pull us over, not our enemy.
It is so ugly of a situation that I don’t have the words. All I Know is there is a dark cloud hanging over Alabama, and it is going to get more ugly before it gets better.
