DHS’ Johnson, Reed off to strong start in cross-country season

The Dadeville High School cross-country team has begun its season, and two of its members have started their individual campaigns on a high note.
Zack Johnson and Conor Reed have each secured a top-10 placing this season.
Johnson and Reed finished third and eighth. respectively  during a Class 1A-4A meet at Spain Park recently.
Johnson in particular continued to performed well during the early portion of the season.
In Dadeville’s most recent meet at Opelika High School, Johnson secured a top-20 placing in his meet.
He nearly reached a personal best time in said event.
DHS track coach Sabrina Milligan said she was pleased with Johnson’s progress thus far.
“He didn’t do so bad for a kid who played football (Johnson is a wide receiver for the Tigers’ football team Friday night and ran the next morning,” she said. “He is putting his time in, and he’s working very hard.”
