Mrs. Pearl Lewis Neese

Funeral service for Mrs. Pearl Lewis Neese, 85, of Alexander City, will be Friday, September 13, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Cummings will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Neese passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on July 19, 1928 in Coosa County, Alabama to M.D. Lewis and Mary Susie Lewis. She was an active member of Wayside Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class. The Neese family owned and operated Whats Curb Market for many years and then she became a homemaker. She loved her family, working in the yard and tending her garden. She also enjoyed cooking and could cook anything.
She is survived by her son, Donald Neese of Alexander City; daughter, Julia Nelson (Gary) of Jackson’s Gap; grandchildren, Jim Neese (April), Laura Skinner (Michael), Donna Baker (Ross), Jason Neese, Kate Lee (Gabe) and Meg Nelson; and great-granddaughter, Ella Rose Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Evans Neese; her parents; son, Charles Neese; sisters, Della B. Jones, Birthel Whaley and Lillie Mae Henley; brothers, Henry Alford Lewis, Albert Lewis, Dewey Lewis and Jack Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Wayside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 493, Alexander City, AL 35011.
