Published 11:23am Thursday, September 12, 2013

Two local cheerleaders had the chance to pump the crowd up during Troy University’s annual cheerleading clinic on Sept. 7.
Kristen Tolbert of Dadeville High School and Rodney O’Neil of Reeltown High School were among 150 cheerleaders from all over the state of Alabama that participated in the clinic.
During the three-hour morning clinic, participants had the opportunity to fine-tune their tumbling and jumps. Additionally, participants learned new cheers and new dances.
Following the end of the clinic, Tolbert, O’Neil and the rest of the cheeleading clinic participants took part in the Trojan Walk alongside members of the Troy Trojans football team and Troy University cheerleaders.
The experience ended when Tolbert, O’Neil and other cheerleaders cheered alongside the Troy Trojans cheerleaders during the first quarter of the Troy vs. Savannah State game.
