Mr. Steven Floyd “Shorty” White

Funeral service for Mr. Steven Floyd “Shorty” White, 55, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery, Clay County.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. White passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Trinity Medical Center. He was born on December 26, 1957 in Anniston, Alabama to Harvie Bufford White and Annie Jane Murray Turner. He attended West End Baptist Church. Mr. White worked for Russell Corporation for over 27 years and Madix for 7 years. He was a friend to everyone, never met a stranger and enjoyed talking on the phone. He loved his grandkids and watching his grandson play football. He especially loved cooking and preparing doughnuts for his grandbabies. He enjoyed watching wrestling and NASCAR; but his favorite TV shows were NCIS and Swamp People.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda White of Alexander City; son, Jeremy Steve “Peanut” White (Kelley) of Alexander City; daughter, April Suzanne Williams (Ronald) of Alexander City; granddaughter, Halaina Jane White; grandsons, Hunter Lynn White, Coty Williams, Kyle Williams, Logon Williams, and Parker White; mother, Annie Jane Murray Turner of Alexander City; sister, Betty White Lemmond of Alexander City; brothers, Ronald Lester White (Jackie) of Oxford and Gordon White (Debbie) of Mobile; and brothers-in-law, Tommy Carden, Johnny Ray Trigg, and Jimmy Peters, all of Sylacauga.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvie Bufford White and step-father, Ralph Turner.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 3054-C McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111.
