Published 1:44pm Thursday, August 15, 2013

Dadeville youth soccer is making its return, thanks to the First Baptist Church.
Registration for the Tiny Tigers soccer teams is set to start on Sunday, Aug. 18.
The registration period will last through Wednesday, Aug. 28.
According to Hunter Baker, director of the Tiny Tigers soccer league, the plan is offer children interested in soccer an outlet to pursue said interest.
“This is the first time we’ve done something like this,” Baker said. “Youth soccer has been offered in the past, but it hasn’t been available for some time.”
The teams will have three divisions: ages 3-4, ages 5-6, and ages 7-8.
Practice is set to begin on Aug. 28, the same day registration ends.
During that day, there will also be tryouts.
The first game is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15.
There will be a total of eight games played fon each following Sunday until Nov. 3.
All practices and games will be at McKelvey Park.
“We’re hoping to provide families the opportunity to get their young athletes involved in soccer while doing so in a fun and safe environment.”
Cost of registration is $35. This fee also covers uniforms for the athletes.
Registration takes place at the First Baptist Church of Dadeville.
