Mr. Robert Edward Ray

Funeral service for Mr. Robert Edward Ray, 92, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.  Rev. Clyde Coker will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hackneyville Cemetery with honors provided by the Alexander City Veteran’s Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Ray passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home.  He was born on August 3, 1920 in Clay County, Alabama to Orlander Pierce Ray and Mary Susan King Ray.  He was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Champion (Stanley)of Alexander City, Nancy Rape (Eddie) of Forest City, NC, and Cheryl Cotney of Alexander City; son, Tim Ray (Sharon) of Pelion, SC; grandchildren, Elaine Spraggins (Tim), Wade Champion, Alecia LeMaster, John Rape (Tera), Suzanne Scott (Mike), Zorrina Harmon, and Tim Ray, II; great-grandchildren, Lucinda Carr (Aaron), Eric Price, Roger Champion, Breann Hayes, Aaron Hayes, Dalton Rape, Justin Rape, Amber Wall, Jake Scott, Reed Scott, Drew Harmon, Jared Harmon, Sydney Harmon, Seth Rymer, Chloe Ray, and Emily Ray; great-great-grandchildren, Jasmine Carr, Jarred Carr, Addison Champion, and Aaron Hayes; brother, Charles Ray (Gloria) of Florida; sister, Mary Helen Cleary of Butler; and sister-in-law, Betty Ray.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Willis Ray; his parents; brother, Frank Ray; and sisters, Maxine Scroggins and Limmer Ruth Arnold.
