One man is dead and a woman is injured as a result of a personal watercraft hitting a dock early Friday morning on Lake Martin.

Alabama Marine Police Capt. Matt Brooks confirmed Henry Adam Harrell, 30, of Center Point died in the accident.

“We received the call at 6:10 a.m. (Friday) and are still on the scene investigating the accident,” Brooks said Friday afternoon.

Brooks said the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The accident occurred on Sturdivant Creek in the Lake Hill Estates area of the lake, which is north of the U.S. Highway 280 bridge off the Tallapoosa River.

The 24-year-old Alexander City woman, who was a passenger on the personal watercraft, was injured and transported to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, according to Brooks.
