An open letter to President Obama

Published 12:08pm Friday, June 21, 2013

Dear Editor,

At a time when much of the country at almost every level is struggling to make ends meet, I am appalled at the arrogance of your planned African vacation with estimated costs of up to $100 million.

I realize that this trip is being billed as a trade and good will trip, but spending our tax money for this non-essential and lavish trip is both careless and disrespectful of the American middle class who is paying for your decadence.

Mr. President, you were elected to defend our country and our constitution, but you need to remember that you are not a king, and we are not your subjects.

You are an elected official and should lead by example.

You have repeatedly told us that we need to be frugal, while at the same time you are spending our money carelessly.

Tighten up your own budget just as most of the rest of us have had to tighten ours.

The president and his wife have enough of their own money to afford a vacation without tax dollars if they choose too. Hating the president is not a very good look for you! That could be why you are struggling to make ends meet….food for thought!

    Peace and Love!;)

Are you serious? Do you really believe that he is using his own personal money to fund these lavish trips? No way! I also doubt that someone’s personal feeling toward the President have any correlation on their ability to make ends meet. Wake up and look at what is going on around you!

There is a big difference between “Hating the president” and speaking out publically against abuse of the office of the president. This is simply exercising my first amendment rights. You can do the same.

Peace and Love to you too.

Well said. I am also appalled at the arrogance of his planned African vacation with estimated costs of up to $100 million.
Not surprised, he is so full of ridiculousness.
