Postal service deserves better from Congress

Published 1:23pm Thursday, June 20, 2013

Dear editor,

We the people should demand more from Congress.

The U.S. Postal Service deserves to be represented. This is one body that doesn’t receive taxpayer dollars.

Congress has them in a shameful situation, where they can hardly do the people’s business. They have a hard time trying to run the business and pay insurance and pay retirement funds.

Congress has a gap in there when they save millions of dollars for the retirement fund, Congress takes it out, and this is how congress has been doing the postal service for some years now.

This is a business that we all rely on every day.

Some may use the Internet for things, but guess what? This still has to be delivered.

Congress fixes this to work in their favor. Congress should be made to not only fix this problem right but to replace all the money back that they have stolen from them all this time.

Congress is supposed to write bills that work properly and pass them into law to make businesses work – not leave loopholes that are going to benefit them. That is called pork for Congress.

Let’s show the people in this country that you can do the people’s business right.
