Mr. Marlyn Mitchell “Doc” Hayes

Funeral service for Mr. Marlyn Mitchell “Doc” Hayes, 92, of Kellyton, will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Dyess will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Kellyton Cemetery with veteran honors provided by the Alexander City Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Hayes passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Russell Medical Center.  He was born on January 14, 1921 in Coosa County, Alabama to Madison Foster Hayes and Mable Brown Kyle Hayes.
He was an active member of Kellyton Baptist Church.
Mr. Hayes enjoyed helping the Kellyton Fire Department and the Kellyton Cemetery.
He loved construction and working outdoors on his heavy equipment.
He also loved working in his shop, professional baseball, football and Wheel of Fortune.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Johnnie Crabb Hayes of Kellyton; daughter, Marlene Hayes Jones of Alexander City; sons, Steven Foster Hayes of Kellyton and Daniel Mitchell Hayes of Dadeville; grandchildren, Melanie Saxon Morrison, Melinda Saxon Blair, Nikki Hayes Johnson (Ronald), Lynn Spicher (Jeff); great-grandchildren, Audrey Blair, Cody Blair (Rachel), Zoe Johnson, Henry Spicher and Oliver Spicher; brother, Charles Todd Hayes (Nelda) of Kellyton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cecil A. Hayes, Clifford D. Hayes, and Denver T. Hayes; sisters, Emogene E. Sorrell and Ruth Elaine Dupriest.
The family will accept flowers or contributions can be made to the Kellyton Cemetery Fund.
