Donald Wayne Hornsby

Funeral service for Mr. Donald Wayne Hornsby, 75, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 4:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.  Rev. Donald DeLee will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fishpond Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Hornsby passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Brown Nursing Home. He was born on January 21, 1938 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Willie Hornsby and Josie Ardella Nelson Hornsby.
He was an active member of West End Baptist Church. He worked as an orderly at Wilder’s Nursing Home for many years. He was known for his hugs and smiles and was a great jokester. Mr. Donald was a man of great faith and found something good in everything. He was an extreme cleaner and yard keeper.
He is survived by his sister, Martha Jean Forbus of Ray Community; brothers, Aubrey William Hornsby (Brenda), of Moultrie, GA, James Roy Hornsby of Pensacola, FL, and Jack Allen Hornsby (June), of Dallas, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin Hornsby and JC Hornsby and Guy Hornsby; sisters, Myrtle Hornsby Sheppard, Voncille Hornsby Grant. The family will accept flowers or donation to the Gideon’s Bible Program.
