Central Alabama Trojans win NJCAA title

Behind a complete game from Paul Young, and clutch hitting from Darius Reese and Blaine Miller, the Central Alabama Trojans are now the NJCAA Division I National Champions.
Central Alabama defeated Palm Beach State 7-3 in the teams’ third meeting of the tournament to claim the title.
Young (2-0 in JUCO World Series) went the distance for the second time in as many outings. He threw 111 pitches on the night, allowing seven hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out five.
He pitched six consecutive scoreless innings from the third frame on.
Reese, who was named the tournament’s MVP, was 3-for-5 with a run scored and one RBI. He led all players in hits and runs scored during the tournament.
Miller was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Reese, Miller and Ben Hall were named to the JUCO World Series All-Tournament team, and Central Alabama head baseball coach Wynn Fletcher was named the Coach of the Tournament.
The Trojans are the first team from the state of Alabama to win the JUCO World Series tournament.
