Downtown parking problems

Published 10:45am Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Dear Editor,

For about the past year I have observed more and more people parking in the opposite direction downtown in front of Carlisle Drug and even a few times on the other side of the street across from Carlisle’s.

Is this illegal of not? I thought you had to park with the flow of traffic.

One day this past week I saw this person parked in front of me, facing me, pull out of the parking space and almost run into the side of a car driving down the street toward the railroad crossing.

It was a miracle that she didn’t side swipe the other car.

I’m sure this wasn’t the first time or the last time, but it shouldn’t be happening anyway, or am I wrong about how to park?
