QB Club memberships on sale Friday

Published 11:04am Thursday, May 16, 2013

The team behind the team is about to start its season.
The Benjamin Russell Quarterback Club is set to begin selling membership packets to interested locals, starting at Benjamin Russell’s intra-squad spring football game this coming Friday.
“Most of our memberships are sold during the registration period at the high school,” said BRHS QB Club co-captain Scott Blake. “We’re going to be selling them all throughout the summer.”
Memberships are $50 each. Included in the membership are season-long parking passes for all Wildcats home games, which allow members to park in a designated parking spot at the Sportplex, and dinner for two during each of the four QB Club meetings.
In addition to QB Club memberships, tickets are being sold for the annual steak and raffle dinner.
Tickets for that event are $100, and covers dinner for two at the raffle event.
“The last ticket drawn is guaranteed a cash prize of $4,000,” Blake said.
All proceeds from the dinner and the QB Club memberships will go toward the BRHS Wildcats football team.
“We do a lot of leg work for the kids,” Blake said. “It’s our job as the support club of the football team. We’re going to use the money to feed the kids pre-game, to cover transportation when we have to charter buses to the farther away road games. We’re also going to fund the purchase of new equipment as well. Basically, whatever the team needs, we’ll get.”
The QB Club will have a table set up during the spring game for those interested in purchasing a membership.
The steak and raffle dinner will be held at Elk’s Lodge on Tuesday, July 9 at 6 p.m.
For more information on either event, you may contact Blake at 794-1003 or BRHS QB Club co-captain Bart Jones at 794-4788.
