Published 10:18am Thursday, May 9, 2013

A rainy sub-state round ended rather drearily for the Benjamin Russell Wildcats boys and girls golf teams.
The Wildcats were unable to advance in the playoffs.
The girls finished sixth at the event.
Hayden Scales was the top performer for the Lady ‘Cats, shooting a team-low 84 during play.
McKenzine Chapman shot an 87 in match play.
Hannah Sharpe shot an 102 during the event.
“I feel like the team played well,” BRHS golf coach Wes Tate said. “We just came up a little short of advancing.”
John Chapman was the lone representative for the boys, as he participated in the substate round for individual play.
Chapman shot an 81 during match play, but it was not enough for him to advance to the next stage of the playoffs.
