Registration opens for Kitty Dark Kids Arts Camp

Published 11:20am Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Summer is not just about fun in the sun, as local children will also have a chance to polish their artistic skills this year.

The Kitty Dark Kids Arts Camp will take place June 3-7 at William L. Radney Elementary School.

Jamie Dark, organizer of the Kitty Dark Kids Arts Camp, said art classes will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with lunch and a snack.

“We have four classes that each student takes each day. Classes are painting and drawing, drama, creative movement and mixed media,” Dark said. “We like to take 20 to 25 children per class, and it’s from first grade through the sixth grade age level.”

The camp will cost $125 for the week.

Dark said parents should register by June 1 in order to ensure their child has a spot in the program.

“It’s great fun for all of the kids. Everybody has a great time,” Dark said. “They go from class to class, and they have a recess where they get to have social play.

“I would encourage parents to have their children come because it would be an opportunity for them to have a full week of fun art activities.”

To register, pick up a registration form at Dark Insurance in Alexander City or email Dark at jamiewdark@yahoo.com
