Horseshoe Bend out of postseason

Published 10:49am Tuesday, April 30, 2013

The Horseshoe Bend Generals baseball season is over.
After an improbable comeback over Vincent High School in the first round of the playoffs, the Generals ran into a brick wall in the form of area champion Randolph County Tigers.
The Tigers swept Horseshoe Bend from the playoffs, winning game one   11-4 and winning game two 14-5.
At season’s end, the Generals record stands at 12-21.
“We picked a bad day to have a bad day,” Generals baseball coach Jason Johnson said. “Pitching is usually our strong suit, but we walked 17 batters and hit seven in the doubleheader. It was a very long day.”
