Daughtry Daniel Macon died peacefully on April 22in Gainesville, Florida. Mrs. Macon was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to L. Marvin and Susie P. Daniel. She graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. For most of her life she worked in her family’s businesses. Mrs. Macon was an especially devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her family will be eternally grateful for the blessings she bestowed on them. The greatest gift she gave them was sharing her deep faith in God.
Mrs. Macon is survived by her children, Layne Macon Sasser and Jackson Sasser of Gainesville, Florida, her grandchildren Jackson Sasser, Jr. and Christiana Sasser of Williamsburg, Virginia, Elizabeth Walker and Brian Walker of Mount Dora, Florida; three great grandchildren, Amelia Kate Walker, Barrett Adeline Sasser and Price Daniel Sasser. She is also survived by one sister, Virginia Ray of Alexander City, Alabama, nephews and nieces, Danny and Lu Ann Brown, Vicki Dobbs and Beth and Einor Hoff, a great nephew Daniel Brown, great nieces, Lauren Mills, Alana Collingsworth and Whitney Brown.
Her family is deeply grateful and indebted to all of the wonderful staff at the North Florida Retirement Village and the caring individuals at Haven Hospice. A special appreciation is extended to Patsy Mongo.
Visitation is at Radney Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at Hillview Memorial Park in Alexander City, Alabama on Friday, April 26at 11:00 a.m.
